ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTIONS -
SOUTH CAROLINA MEDIATION

B.C. Killough, registered patent and business attorney

B.C. KILLOUGH, CERTIFIED MEDIATOR

South Carolina courts increasingly require litigants to engage in mediation before a case can go to trial.  B.C. “Bill” Killough became a mediator to offer business clients this cost effective and efficient alternative to expensive trials.

Bill is certified as a mediator by South Carolina Supreme Court Arbitrator and Mediator Certification Board, and he is a member of the International Academy of Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is an experienced attorney who has counseled businesses and individuals for more than 30 years, developing creative solutions to complex business issues. In order to focus on matters in which he is most experienced, he limits his mediation practice to commercial disputes and intellectual property matters. Bill Killough’s education in the fields of engineering, business and law, as well as his business and legal experience, give him insight into and understanding of disputes in these areas.

As an attorney and counselor, Bill Killough has handled hundreds of commercial matters representing plaintiffs, defendants, entrepreneurs, licensors, licensees, franchisors, franchisees, buyers, sellers, lenders (banks) and borrowers. He has represented clients in matters throughout the United States, in Europe, and in Asia. He became a licensed title insurance agent to assist his clients in business matters involving real estate.

As a registered patent attorney he has prosecuted hundreds of patent and trademark applications, and he has both mediated and litigated patent, trademark and copyright matters, including licensing issues. He formerly served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Law, teaching Patent Law.
